Preview and registration: 8:30am, 9:00am auction starts, along with the deals that will make you sickle (strike that, you'll be ecstatic, I'll be sickle!)
I just saw this house on Monday and it’s going down next week so I’m initially going to forego my usual extreme detail just to get the word out. Time is short people, and so am I so let’s get reading shall we?
This house is officially called the T. R. Meyers House and was designed in 1908 by the architects Tallmadge and Watson. It was most recently purchased and set to be renovated which is why there is a great mix of old and new elements. Read on for details...
Stained Stunningness: Stained leaded glass Andersen windows-- some are pictures, and some are crank outs-- and Andersen custom thermopane storms for the entire sunroom of windows.
Doors, Moldings and Flooring: All the flooring and crown and base moulding are quarter sawn oak. The entrance pediment, the entrance door and foyer door are quarter sawn as well. There are two ridiculously cool interior stained glass doors that match the leaded glass windows described above. The rest of the interior doors are phenomenal 1 panel recessed doors with hardware, and on the third floor there are oak 2 panel doors everywhere you turn!
Light a fire to get here: There are prairie style light fixtures everywhere you look! I am getting tingly just thinking about them. Ceiling mount or sconces, take your pick-- they’re really cool. I know I’m gushing, but they’re gush worthy! Trust me, you’ll see in the pictures.
Other Whatnots You’ll Love: Prairie Style quarter sawn oak fireplace, Prairie built-in with glass, entire room of oak built-in desk unit (the top units are lighted as well!), original hooks, window pulls and the like.
And Now, the New Stuff: Kolbe thermopane windows, interior Kohler Jacuzzi party tub, Sauna room, Amerec steam shower. The kitchen and baths are pretty beat, but the rest is outta control!
Outdoors: Granite countertop for your grill, 2 trellises, slate patio and slate walk way, paver walkway, hydrangeas, hostas and the usual green suspects ready for the old dig and dash!
